I thought about putting this as a poll but(from previous polls it seems you can only choose one answer, so I won't) My question is
"Who, from this forum, would you most like to meet?'
I can't give just the one answer so I thought I'd open it up. Who and Why??? I'll start the the ball rolling. Apologies to all who should be on the list.
- johnslat- who wouldn't want to meet the 'Godfather'
-Scot47- he claims to sound like Sean connery, does he look like him?
-Richard amre- He gives sound advice about Turkey
-FGT- Due to pms I feel he knows me But I don't know who he is
-capergirl- no one has breeks that sparkly
-dduck- very similiar opinions( he always gets there before me)
-Smooj- always sound advice and a great sense of humour
-Leeroy- A night on the pi** could be fun. ( I reckon I'd drink you under the table though. BTW hope the exam went well)
Again apologies to those I've missed out
Snoopy, Guty and Biff you're not included as I know your misdemeanours personally
Oh yeah, How could I forget Ghost who keeps everyone on the Turkish board entertained |

I can't choose. There are so many good choices and I don't want to pick a favorite. There are also some pretty interesting people that can be found on the Japan and China forums. |

Yeah, I'll second guest of Japan - I'd really like to meet Steiner who posts mostly on the China forum. He has a way of saying exactly what I want to say but knowing how to do it so much more humourously. |

Tough choices. I'd like to meet PaulH and Shmooj. I'd also like to meet Capergirl because we seem to have so much in common and I seem to relate to her. Steiner would be a hoot, have to agree on that one. |

It's a good thing this is all hypothetical. I'm afraid Gordon and shmooj would be sorely disappointed. It's easier to be not boring online when I can pop in and say something only when I feel like it.
"Well, why don't you try saying something not boring sometime, then, Steiner," you ask?
"Well, that's a good question," I answer. Really, you'd be quite tired of me after about three minutes of staring at each other, me trying to think of something to say.
Like others of you I'd have a hard time deciding who to meet. R, also known as Rob Who Never Posts Anymore But Is Still A Moderator, would be fun. If I remember correctly, the guy who's made me laugh the most here recently is leeroy. I feel like I already know Wolf from his posts. I think everyone wants to meet Capergirl to compare her with her avatar. Actually, that's probably why people would want to see me. Ha, ha, laugh at the freak. I'd like to meet just about everyone, I guess. I've read posts from most of you at one time or another and thought it would be interesting to meet you in real life.
How about people we'd be afraid to meet? I like reading biffinbridge's posts but I'm afraid of him when he's been drinking. |

I don't think I'd want to meet Senor when he's drunk, that would probably be most of the time, I guess. |

R, Roger, johnslat, scot47, shmooj, glenski, Denise, Nomadder, Capergirl, Steiner, many of the ghosts of the China forums, Guest of Japan, PaulH, dmb, and been_there whose posts here have so far been interesting.
Don't feel bad if I've left out your name, but those are the ones that stick out immediately. I'm famously bad with names.
Edit: Sherri, Kurochan, and Dave himself, of course

I know it's going to sound like a cop-out, but I'd like to meet all of you - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly (and, if you're at all like me, you're probably all three at various times). So, in my "godfather" persona (I can only assume that dmb was referring to my, ahem, advanced age by dubbing me that) I'm going to make you an offer you can't refuse: If you're ever in the Santa Fe, New Mexico area, please let me know and it will be my pleasure to give you a guided tour of "The City Different".
Regards,
John |

I hate to break it to you all, but I'm not actually a cartoon figurine.
Ironically enough, everyone who has posted on this thread thus far is on my list (seriously ). A few additions: dyak, leeroy, yaramaz, R, joe-joe, Will, fat_chris, sunaru, and of course, Mr. Sperling himself. (Hey, maybe if I wear sparkly pants to the conference in May, he'll know it's me! ).
I've already met one of the regular posters: Nomadder. We had a grand ol' chat and I hope we get an opportunity to do it again sometime. |

Wolf, thanks for listing me twice, although I'm sure you'll find one of me to be too much. |
