... for internet access a month? I recently saw a newspaper ad for unlimited access for 300 QR a month(about 45 pounds) I thought that was expensive but then I realised that I go through about ten 30 QR pre paid cards a month(again about 45 pounds)
So, how much do you pay a month for internet access.(I'm particularly interested from Turkish posters-as I'll be there in a few months) |

I pay about 4,000 yen for unlimited high speed internet. That would be almost $40 US. No start up costs either. |

The Guangdong, China, municipality where I live charges me RMB 153 a month for unlimited access to the Internet.
If I go on holiday, I can "freeze" it for a month at RMB 30, and use it as before after returning.
Thee is an option to pay less (maybe two thirds), but with a limited number (I think 60 hours per month). |

In Saudi I pay SR90 ($25) a month just for the Internet. Then I pay telephone bills (maybe $100-$150, at $1 an hour) a month.
In Sri Lanka I pay $10 a month for Internet Access, and then the telephone bills (which vary from $0.50 to $3.50 an hour according to time of day).
In neither is DSL available at my address. If it were it would be exorbitant in Saudi ($200 a month) and dirt cheap in Lanka ($20 a month). |

I get high-speed Internet access in my apartment in China as a condition of employment. That makes my salary just a little bit better when compared to employers where this is an expense.
In an Internet bar, I pay $.25-.30 CDN per hour. |

An arm and a stinkin' leg.
I pay about 10,000 rupiah an hour - that's about $1.20 US an hour. I use the Internet daily to chat and email with friends and family back home. The Internet is my single biggest expense - I pay less for my food or rent. |

I pay about $45/mth (Cdn) for high-speed internet.
Conversions:
$45 Cdn = $34.22 US
= 27. 84 Euros
= 19.58 GBP
= 3, 685 Yen
= 283 RMB
= 40, 543 won
= 1, 162 NT

I'm in Turkey. For basic 56K access you have to chose from one of the many ISPs here; Superonline, Ixir, Turknet etc. Most of them ask for around $5-$10 a month for unlimited access, but you can get different packages and some yearly discounts and so on. Nothing that'll break the bank.
Then you have to pay TurkTelecom, which breaks down as follows:
$1 = 1'485'000 TL (approx)
Mon-Fri:
0700-0800 840'000 TL
0800-2000 1'200'000 TL
2000-2230 840'000 TL
2230-0700 720'000 TL
Sat:
0700-2230 840'000 TL
2230- 720'000 TL
Sun:
until 0700 Mon 720'000 TL
These were the hourly rates last time I checked (about 2 months ago). They may have gone up a little recently, but it'll give you a rough idea of what to pay.
You can also get Kablonet which is, as the name suggests, a connection through your TV cable. You need to have some kind of special ether net modem connected up to your PC and a few other set up costs, and then you pay a monthly fee based upon the connection speed you want. It's not especially cheap, but maybe worth it if you want to spend several hours a day on the net. The connection speed of the regular service (56K dial-up), at least in my district, isn't too bad for just checking e-mails, forums, and so on. |

In Turkey I use Unimedia but only pay the phone charges so don't know the real cost (not a huge amount - can enquire for you). TurkTelecom now do a broadband package, don't know exact price but when I was told about it my reaction was favourable. Again, I can find out. [when I say can, I mean will. More info to follow] |

128/32 72.000.000 TL
256/64 119.000.000 TL
512/128 210.000.000 TL |
