Hello, Me and my wife are coming to Guadalupe, Costa Rica to teach at new learning academy, in January, 2009, and wondered if there is anybody on here that has taught at the school that could give me information on the area and places to stay at? Anything would be a lot of help.
Thank you. |

I haven't taught at the school, but I too will begin teaching there in January. The school is in San Pedro which is an area dominated by the University of Costa Rica. The school has 35,000 students so cheap housing and food options are prevalant. There are also many bars, music, and other cultural options. As far as places to stay I would ask the staff at the school for help, but if you would like a reccomendation...costarica.en.craigslist.org/sub/952145161.html |

Please be advised that New Learning Academy is in the Barrio Pilar area of Guadalupe, which is close to San Pedro but definitively isn't San Pedro. If you want to work in NLA you will have no problems using the Periferica bus to go from San Pedro to Guadalupe. Other nice places to stay around the school are Guadalupe (most of it) and Moravia. |
