I don't know about finally, but this is indeed a very fine moment in our country's history, as far as I'm concerned.

The Bush administration was certainly nothing to be proud of.

Happy to be able to be a little more hopeful about our country's future.

Congratulations guys, this is something for Americans to be proud of Smile I was in Bali with American friends during the election and the local people were also following the results closely and seemed very pleased about Obama's win- he is especially popular in Indonesia due to having lived there as a child.

Compared to Bush, anyone would be an improvement. Obama's message of hope and improved foreign relations should be a nice change from Bush's warped religious sentiments and 'exported democracy' now policy.

Although I wouldn't have voted for him, I wish President elect Obama all the best. He's going to need a lot of support and also a very competent team of advisors to help him navigate situations and crises he has never experienced.

I'm not sure why this particular time is a moment for Americans to be proud, though. It just shows democracy in action, the peaceful transfer of power, and the strength of the system. The same as in any presidential election.

I think it has to do with the candidate's mixed ethnic-racial background. It was similar with Sarkozy coming to power in France. And a lot of people see this affirming what the US has always stood for in its short history, a land where anyone can be somebody.

As to having a good cabinet, this will help any president. Unfortunately, Bush's cabinet has had mixed reviews Cool .

I doubt if you even know 1% of what they / he has done (we all know the mistakes, there have been plenty of them but ...)

but I certainly agree, time for a change!
