Please advise- do Taiwanese schools require a teaching applicant to provide a current criminal police check, and how current should such a document be?

Pray tell, are there any native English speaking teachers in Taiwan that teach legal and to this end, can answer my query forthwith:

Whats the name of this police check that the Taiwanese government need? How much do teachers pay for it or will the school pay for this as a courtesy for the teacher?
