A friend gave several weeks notice to her employer (Wishborn / Global Communications) in May. Before leaving, they tried to make her pay for the lessons she wouldn't be teaching after she left. They eventually backed off that demand but have yet to give her the final pay she is due. After talking with them, they have no intention of paying her, either.
What options does she have to get her final pay? Should she get a lawyer, keep trying to talk with them? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks. |

Sick the union and the labour standards board on them, or get a lawyer.
They owe her. According to law, you cannot penalize someone for quitting, and this sounds like that is just what they are trying to do. On another forum, that employer gets raked over the coals. |
