I don't know whether this question has been asked before, but I have searched the forums to no avail. I've also been scouring the internet, embassy webpages, etc, but I haven't found a satisfactory answer.
Basically my question is whether it is possible to obtain a visa which will allow you to work in the host country (e.g. Thailand/Vietnam) for up to a period of, say, three months, but doesn't require you to provide the details of an employer before the visa is issued.
I'm hoping to travel in Thailand/Vietnam or other S.E.Asian countries from Feb-Apr 2009, and In the (quite likely) event that I run out of money, I want the reassurance of being able to undertake short term teaching work.
If anyone has any information or experience related to this inquiry, please do let me know by reply. Also general information about finding work in Thailand/Vietnam/etc such as availability during this period, etc, would be greatly appreciated!
I am CELTA-qualified with a degree and post graduate degree and two years experience teaching in Japan.
Cheers all
