|
|
So i have never posted on here but i was referred here to seek some advice. I am currently an undergraduate senior graduating in May 2009. I am 100% interested in going abroad to teach english in South America (location TBA). I was wondering if anyone had any advice on which TEFL/TESOL/EFL/ESL course to take in order to get my certificate (i am looking for specific courses, not just general requirements for a "good" course). I am looking to teach in either Ecuador, Costa Rica, Argentina, Chile (other countries in SA are options, as well). Does anyone have an online course that IS recommended because I have been told not to take any of them and have instead been told to take a course at the location I want to teach. I am looking for an affordable course however if there is a course that is more expensive, I want to make sure it will be worth it! Any advice would be great. Any advice on which countries have decent salaries and/or with easy/affordable living situations. Thank you in advance for all of your help!

I'd highly recomment the SIT TESOL certificate course. It's an onsite program offered in various locations in south America.
I have first hand experience with the courses in Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Mexico, and can say they're all good.
By the way, I'm not at all unbiased. If Ecuador appeals, contact me.
best,

If you're intersted in Peru, let me know. I can tell you all you want to know and more. Basically, here' you'll live like royalty, but you wont save much.
Free online courses
The Peace Corps has come up with a Guide to teaching English.
You could also try TEFL Boot Camp.
I've heard good things about English International, too. |
