hi all..
l am new to ESL having just done cert3 for adult and buisness.
being an x australian serviceman l have a desire to teach military or police (depending on the country.) as my teaching style has been rated as rather 'strong' and besides teaching children is not my piece of pie.
l have taught serviceman before mainly on medical and army health issues and do agree that at times you may as well talk to a wall cause you would get a better response from a wall...however..
Any help ref qualifications, places or people to contact would be a great help..(anywhere in the world)
I had a look at BAE but didnt see anything relevant to ESL
Am a bit worried about age as now 55 and need to settle into work that pays reasonable as l still have a house to pay for and a wife as well..

| You might want to try TINS (Technical Institute of Naval Studies). Age discrimination doesn't seem to be much of a problem there, and I'm pretty sure they hire BAs with certification. |

Check out Raytheon at Rayjobs.com . They have alot of militaty job openings.

| I think Raytheon only hire citizens of the USofA. Some posters here may be surprised that not all of us have that status. |

Contact BAE Systemns. They are probably looking for people to teach at their School of English Language at the Technical Studies Institute at Dammam.
There's an age ceiling, but if you are just 55 then you could get under the bar. This would give you a job for five years, but no longer. |

Wrong-o, Scot. One of my better friends who went on to work in Australia was South African. Usually, if a security clearance is required (and many do...or at least did) an 'merican only hiring policy is understandable. Apparently, some of the Raytheon jobs didn't require the extensive background check that comes part and parcel with a security clearance.
Now, the English teaching staff, all-American in my time and the most dysfunctional group of boobs to ever wave an American flag. And, so pro- Iraqi War!
It's funny how "pro" you can be when it's not yer rear end on the line!
