So it's like this: I've got Hepititis C. I hear they test for it. I hear some provinces(Jiangsu, etc.) dont require an in-country medical. I hear different things.
What I urgently need to know is can I teach in China? Anybody know anything about this? Please help: dont want to get there and get turned back!

Chon nom,
Hepatitis C is a contagious and potentially deadly condition, as I'm sure you know. People respond differently to the infection itself as well as the medications to combat it. Now and then someone will pass through this site with Herpes, Hepatitis, etc, and want information on dodging the test.
I'm not making any judgments about you as a person. People used to get Hepatitis C mainly through transfusions. How you got it is not the issue; however, you need to accept your condition and realize that it may limit your options.
If you show up at a clinic, approved for testing, and are found to be positive, numerous things could happen. You could be immediately detained. You could be refused the certification that allows your other documents to be processed, leading to embarrassment, misunderstanding, and confusion.
The questionaire is quite intrusive. If you say you have never used narcotics and your test shows you are HepC +, any physician with a brain is going to want a detailed explanation of how you got the condition. That's going to require a translator. Eventually, the translator will tell others at the school, then, regardless of the health risks, the school may be uncomfortable with your presence.
Another possibility is that the health screening is a big hoax. It may be that none of the tests are actually performed or are performed haphazardly. You may pass without a problem.
If you are a substance abuser, frankly, passing HepC around in China is not the best use of your various talents. Anyone interested in giving you info on how to "beat the test" might want to ask themselves if they are doing anybody a favor.

Please don't kid yourself into believing that you won't be tested for HEP C. All provinces and autonomous regions do a blood test for HIV and HEP. They may do a spotty medical on other things, but blood tests, x-rays and cardiogram are almost mandatory.
You should probably stay at home as they will either deport you within 30 days; accuse you of being a drug addict or worse a pusher and jail you; or send you to a mandatory drug treatment center (mental hospital).
