Hi,
I was thinking of teaching over in Taiwan and the recruiter said that I must have a teaching credential from the USA if I wanted a job with a public or private school. He said this was a new law since Feb.
I always knew this pertained to public schools, but now all private schools? Does this include cram schools and other "hagwon" like gigs? or universities? I'm confused, and he wasn't very helpful. He wanted me to go all the way back to California and get credentialed. I live in Asia now and have been teaching in Korea and Thailand. Going back to the USA is not an option right now.
I have a Masters in Education, and many years of teaching experience which never prevented me from getting a job, but I do not have a public school credential because my work experience included universities and private schools.
Any clarity would be appreciated.... |

First time I've heard of that. A BA is sufficient for most teaching jobs in Taiwan. I know people with BAs who work for government schools as well. |
