Hello all,
I am looking to move to Switzerland next year and would like to continue in the International school sector.
I currently teach ESL in a large Int. school in Asia, attached to a year group as a 'feeder' class. I have around 7 years experience, Trinity TESOL and am part way through a Masters in Education (completion 2009 hopefully).
What are the opportunities in Switzerland, what do Int. schools require, what are working conditions like and what can I reasonably expect to earn ?
Any advice on this much appreciated
Thank you,
Maverick. |

Vacancies are few and far between. They are rarely filled from abroad - it generally takes local contacts, reputation, and local language skills to land them. As many people would like to live/work in Switzerland, obviously the market heavily favors employers. |

If you work for an Int. school now then use that to built up a network. I don't quite agree with spiral that you need local language skills, for instance. Int. Schools in Switzerland are considered to be very good (and very posh) and I'd rather say you need very good qualifications and lots of experience.
Think of applying to one of those top private schools in England. |
