I bought some shinkansen tickets with non-reserved seating. I have become used to the tickets with reserved seating because they tell you what train you are supposed to be on. However, the ones with non-reserved seating have no assigned train
NOTE: I do not have a JR Rail Pass as I am a CIR in the JET Program. So I bought these tickets online.
Even though it may be silly, my question is this: does this mean I can ride on any shinkansen as long as it has non-reserved seats? I know that Hayate in the Tohoku region is all reserved seating so that choice is out.
I don"t mind standing room only. I just don't want to get on the wrong train by mistake.

you can't sit in the green car, there are just some cars that you can sit in.
I think it is the first two cars, and then near the back. |
