My FMT runs out soon so I want to cross the border to the US and then come back in. Does anyone know how long I need to stay out of Mexico before I can cross the border again? |

I have not had to do it, but the last information I had was long enough to walk across the street and cross back over, i.e. same day, no minimum time. Get your passport stamped and pay for your new FMT when you come back in. |

I used to know an American in Huatulco who would do a border run to McAllen, TX every six months. He would cross the border to pick up mail, make a few phone calls, and then turn around and come back the same day or following morning. |

One time I took the bus to Laredo, shopped for cheap junk for like 3 hrs, and then took another bus back home, stopping at the border to get the new FMT (I don't think they even stamped my passport, but I would ask them to in the future). Easy. |
