wanna see the following type stuff:

sumo!!!!

any sort of japanese theatre (kabuiki, especially, but the bunraku/noh mask plays would be equally entertaining)

cool buildings/architecture/historical sites. need suggestions. yasakuni and the imperial palace only spring to mind.

cool places to party? like non-foreigner watering holes. something with a good mix of japanese/foreigner or mostly japanese.

WEIRD stuff. japans notorious for unusual exotic or downright weird. need some advice and someone with the insider's tip for help.

budget not too much of an issue, but nothing too outlandishly expensive.

please help! will be in town early january. gracias!

This is a board for teachers of English, working in Japan, not the Tourist Information Centre.

Buy a book or do a web search. Both activities are not difficult.

what? the recession's putting a damper on your mood? *beep*. go do some marking instead of wasting your time on here with your unproductive hater responses.

anyone else with any HELPFUL recommendations from people with some insight into the country willing to share?

www.japan-guide.com isn't a teachers forum. This is. Is that a helpful recommendation?
