I'm keen to develop my skills in a particular area of EFL teaching. In terms of getting work (and making the most money), which would be the best area of specialism for a teacher thinking about coming to Spain: Business English or exam classes (particularly IELTS)?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think IELTS is almost unheard of here. Most Spanish students are interested in the EOI (Escuela Oficial de Idiomas) certificates.

I'm not an expert on IELTS in Spain (I do it in HK), but I know that it goes on in some places. I met a guy who does IELTS in Barcelona over the summer, and it pays well by Spanish standards.

You cannot learn to teach Business English on a 1 month course. You only become a good Business English teacher when you've actually run companies and experienced all aspects of business. Don't expect to get Business Classes in Madrid on the basis of a piece of paper, it's experience that will determine whether you make 1200 or 8000 a month and there's no third way.
