				| In the following sentence, is it better to use "most" or "the most" ? I like many sports, but I like basketball (the) most.

				| Does this site even address the question?

I would say if they both work, use the example that has the fewest words and thus the most efficiency: I like basketball most. But this is from a writing point of view. It probably doesn't matter much when speaking, unless you want to slow down for emphasis or in anger, etc. -- then the can add to the effect.

				| Just use mostest because YOU, not them, are the expert in English. | |

				| In the example sentence I'd use 'the most'. If leaving off the 'the' was the goal I'd use 'best' or 'most of all'.
