Okay, new guy here with what's undoubtedly a stupid, poorly phrased question for which I'll draw some much deserved abuse. I had some contact with a school in Poland and they sent me a salary offer and told me to stand by for more info. Since I'm an American I'm used to business stuff happening fast fast fast - at my current corporate cubicle limbo job people get back to you in minutes or hours. But this is a totally different business and a totally different country, so what I'm wondering is how long should I expect to wait before giving it up? Is it common for a week or two (it hasn't been that long yet) to go by?
Let the abuse begin!

Sound like you actually want to be abused- sometimes known as a form of 'trolling'. Razz

The question really isn't all that stupid.

If the school is interested in you,I would expect a reply in a about 7-10 days. It's always a good idea to apply for as many jobs as possible to increase your chances.

Schools in Poland aren't as interested in hiring non EU citizens as they used to be.I know because I am one and see it first hand. You can still find a job as a non EU person, but if a Brit for example is equally qualified, they will get the position first.

I think we'd all like to know the stipulations of the job offer? What salary are they offering you and how many hours per week?Which city etc?

Did they also tell you(as they told me several years ago) the cheap prices of beer in Poland and the cost of a big mac and a liter of mineral water?

Did they focus on how"cheap" Poland is to live in these days as everything is virtually free?
Rolling Eyes
Details please.
