I was just hired to work for my first esl job in guapiles, costa rica. I have looked for info on the town, photos, feedback, etc... I can't find anything! Has anyone been there? What is it like, what should i expect? All i know is that it is a rural farming community. Any other info?

Its a small city or large town about 75 km northeast of San Jose. It's in the lowlands so it is probably warmer and has more mosquitoes. It's a better place to live than San Jose in terms of being clean, less noise, less congestion, less people, etc. I lived in Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui, a smaller town to the west, earlier this year and enjoyed it. This area is characterized as rural and agricultural and a center for eco tourism. From Guapiles there a many buses to San Jose and Puerto Viejo. It's also closer to the Caribbean coast.
