Hi
I have a friend who wants to find work in Madrid in May..seeing as it is the end of the academic year I advised against it, but is their possibilities with summer courses and/or teachers who leave before the end of the academic year?

It's not advisable, but not impossible. There is always a bit of work knocking about, but enough to live off is a different question. By May the teachers who are already there on the ground will be scrambling to get as many hours as they can before the summer and to find summer camp jobs. Your mate would probably be better off looking for work in the UK or Asia until September, but if they're really motivated, have papers and are ready to work anywhere they're offered they might get enough to survive, but there are much easier places to spend summer in.
