				| We've managed to bag Christmas day off and would love to have a good Xmas dinner somewhere. Anybody know of anywhere that is offering a good turkey dinner with the trimmings in Taipei? | |

				| Here are the options.
The Far Eastern on Dunwha offers a substantial feast that feeds about 6-8 for about $2500nt. It is TAKE OUT. Call ahead. We've done it and it's fabulous...also, that's not pricey if you have enough people.

In the Chinapost and Taipei Times, there are listings in the entertainment section..... some of the western food restaurants put on a spread. $650-900 were the prices last year, I recall.

I was at Capone's 2 years ago and they never had gravy....imagine, turkey with no gravy. It was awful. Later the mgr arrived from working at his other restaurant and apologized....but our table of 12 still had a $7000 tab.
The problem is the Chinese servers aren't versed on turkey dinners and there was no mgr. present to instruct them. Our Chinese friends were particularly disgusted as Chinese don't eat dry meat (they love legs, thighs and wings, not breast--that's why KFC is so responsive to westerner request for white meat), so they were taken aback.
Lesson...go where there are westerners controlling the food for turkey dinner.

				| Yeah turkey without gravy is just plain wrong but this year ... for some reason ... I feel the need to ingest a whole bunch of turkey, sausage stuffing and mashed potatoes ...with gravy of course!! | |
