Hello,
I'm an IELTS examiner in Beijing, where I also teach business English. I work long days, but am able to make about USD 50,000 per year. Is it possible to make the same money in Vietnam? |

| I am sitting here watching the squadrons of flying pigs soar past my window, and I wonder, "How gullible does he think we are ?" |

| Likewise, I find this extremely hard to believe. Can you provide specific details? |

| When I was in Hanoi I met a few teachers who said that you could find schools that teach IELTS only that pay $30-$40 an hour. Depending on hours worked maybe you could reach $50k a year. Then again I never fully confirmed this pay rate... |

I don't know what turnip truck you think people in this forum fell off of Mr. "IELTS examiner/BEC teacher", but I can tell you, you aren't making that kind of money ANYWHERE in China doing what you profess, even if you are speaking of gross salary figures.
I lived and worked in the best paying, most lucrative area of China (guess; it isn't Beijing, begins with a G) doing EXACTLY what you are saying you did, and I was sought after for promotional lectures by other schools, I was that good. Believe me when I TELL you, Vietnam is the place to be in Asia currently, but drop the posturing and just ask an honest question without all the BULL SH_i_T, OK?
Jeeez, the things people will say just to get attention...
Oh, and good luck job hunting, I mean that. Really. No, really... |
