Finally. The new line runs from Tacubaya metro straight east, for some 20 km. Nice to have a new option for travel as there's a stop some 3 blocks from my place. Great news is that you can transfer to metrobus line 1 at Nuevo Leon station without having to pay again.

Mayor Ebrard has said he wants to put in up to 9 more such metrobus lines.

The mayor also wants to phase out all the propane propelled 20 seater cambis and introduce larger buses. His thinking is in the right frame of mind. He wants bring down vehicular pollution in the city.

To that end, the city just bought 4,000 hybrid cars from Japan for government employees to buy at very favorable terms, which will be financed by Mifel Bank in Polanco.
The metrobus program is a further effort to bring down pollutants here. And I am always surprised by his bad publicity. Por que?
