Hey guys I'm wondering if anyone can help me, I'm really interested in picking up some Karate next year and would like to do it in a place that is decent to live and find work and not too expensive.
I know it seems like a bit of a backwards way to approach things; hobbies and interests first, but we've been here for almost two years now and we know that we can find work but it's the quality of life after work that is SERIOUSLY lacking where we are currently.
I studied Karate for many years and I love the training, dedication and mental focus it requires. So with that in mind - where can I find a good dojo? Doesn't even have to be English instruction; I've got enough background I could follow along and I know how do push - ups and count in Chinese / Japanese so no problems there.
Any advice / suggestions much appreciated.[/b] |

If you're looking for something a little more serious, we've got a Muay Thai/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school in Taipei City. BJJ 4 days, MT 3 days. You can do one, the othe, or both.
I forgot to mention we have a relatively large school, and it is completely non profit. We use extra money to fly in instructors and buy new equipment (currently looking to rent out a larder space) |

Errrm a little more serious than what?
Just kiddin ... I know you're not putting down Karate per se ...just commenting on 'real world' application right?
Did Muay Thai for a while and REALLY liked it and would be very interested in BJJ; unfortunately not much interested in living in Taipei.
Do you know of anything in Taizhung?
Ideally that's where we'd like to be.
I like your idea of a larder though... nothing like a good snack after a workout.
