I am so lost. I have about a week of experience teaching ESL in Belize. I would like to go to China but I am not sure which ads are reliable. I also want to send home 500-700 a month. |

500-700 what? American dollars? Australian dollars? British pounds?
Ask questions about China in the China forum for more chances of people in the know being there to advise.
Might help to know a heckuva lot more about your background, too. Degree, for one. Nationality and age for others. |

Saving that much per month is not going to be easy without experience or a relevant degree. Try Korea perhaps. |

I do some freelance work on the side. Assuming the government does not block the websites I need, I could make money while in China over the internet. Has anyone used this as a way to support themselves? |

China DOES block certain web sites, I'm told. So, go to the China boards and find out before pinning your hopes on that kind of fallback. |

MOST jobs, not all, in China pay about 500 usd a month. For you to get the better jobs, you-ll need experience, quals, and lots of connections. |

I recently finished a contract with Aston English in China. The pay is better than most and it was the best job I've had (out of 3) teaching English in Asia. Of course everyone's experience is different but it's worth checking out.
Feel free to pm if you'd like details. I wished I'd asked more questions before I took my first job in Korea... |
