I worked at Aston for a couple of years and its basically like any other chain school in China - if you have a good relationship with the boss then things will be fine. If not....

I would be careful about the contracts because Aston was pretty deceptive when it came to the salary - every time there was a holiday they would rate the monthly salary according to how many days worked, not by actual hours. Then they would switch to a different excuse and contract interpretation. It ended up that you would work your full hours but still be docked pay "because of the holiday" or some other excuse.

Of course each Aston school will be different and I did have some positive experiences at my school. Which school locations are you interested?

I'm surprised that you worked for Aston for a couple of years without understanding which holidays are paid and which aren't--it's spelled out in all contracts. I'll admit that 'salary proration' might confuse anyone used to weekly income but it's basically grade school math: divide the monthly salary by the days in the month to figure out how much to deduct per day for unpaid leave.
