I've been in Korea for nearly 4 months now. I love my kids but the lack of enthusiasm from my coteachers and the racism I get here is getting me down. SO next year I'm thinking of coming to Taiwan.
First up: Whats the best way to get work? Come to Taiwan then look or get one overseas? I'll have sufficient savings to live in Taiwan for a few months (about $4,000) when I leave Korea.
What wages should I expect to get? I've got a year in a public middle school under my belt when I leave here, and I expect a glowing reference. Can u get work in schools, or is it just after school academies that hire?
Two final questions: Can you teach privates legally? (What do u charge) and I hear its best to go to south part of Taiwan to live is this accurate.
Oh and finally, i can hop over on my winter vacation from Korea think its worth it? Oh and do they speak Chinese there (Mandarin?) I figure its a pretty useful language to learn!
Thanks!

Learn to deal with 'racism' and get on with it. |
