A student i have been teaching in private classes at a language training center has been continually requesting me for "freetalk" sessions - this means that he is on no level or plan with the school.

He told me that he would like me to form my own plan for him - I don't mind doing this, however, I am thinking that I could tutor him in private outside the training center, and just have him pay me directly.

It seems more reasonable for me to do this, as it will take me some of my own time to form a plan for him.

Let me know what your opinion/advice is about this.

I see no problem with his request. If you plan on doing private lessons outside of your primary contractual workplace, be sure you have the legal right to do so.

well, there is a bit of a problem. The problem is that I'm already developing plans for 3 social clubs a week - it is too much to prepare for these and that as well.

My understanding of this situation is that you are employed by this training center and this individual is paying the training center for English lessons which you are providing?

If that is the case, taking this student (a customer of this training center) outside of this school to do private lessons is directly or indirectly stealing a customer away from the training center and causing them to lose business. If they caught wind of this, your continued employment with the organization could certainly be in jeopardy.

That would be my only real concern.

This is a prime example - your outside activities are interfering with your ability to fulfill your students' needs/requests. This is one of the reasons that "moonlighting" is prohibited.

How hard can it be? Pick some topics such as buying airline, train, bus tickets. Internet cafe. Computer problems. Make a list of vocabulary. Then construct some sentences such as "I want to add some RAM to my computer" or "My computer has frozen up." Do some role playing.

If you are an adult and don't see a problem with poaching students from the school which employs you, what can I say? How about "It is wrong to poach students from your employer."
