Hello,

A bit more information would be helpful;

Is English one of your countries official languages? Have you spoken English from childhood? Excuse my ignorance of your country please Embarassed
-If not then you will have some difficulty working internationally, schools prefer to hire native English speakers.

Your degree in Educational Biology - does this certify you to teach or have you an additional teaching certificate/qualification?

Do you want to teach children or adults? English or in your subject area of biology?

I think you have a decent amount of experience so that would be an advantage for you if you are wanting to teach secondary school. If you are a native English speaker then I am sure you will find work. Now is a good time to start applying. I can help with questions about how to apply to international schools but not language schools.

If you refine what you are looking for then other more experienced people on this forum may have more answers. Very Happy

Your reply sounds promising, I think you are wanting an international school job rather than an ESL one.

There are different sites to look on and job fairs coming up around the world very soon, I can give you some ideas and hints but it is really up to you to get yourself motivated to do the work for applications!

In the meantime several things to prepare;
CV stating work experience, achievements, education and qualifications
A transcript of your degree in English
Written references plus referees with phone numbers & email contacts
Current passport - check expiry date and renew if due

I am from New Zealand and teaching in Istanbul, Turkey. I thought I could never travel and get paid for it but I did after a lot of perseverence Surprised
There are a number of sites to look at and agencies to register with if you prefer. You will not be eligible to teach within the EU like me because of your passport status but there are a number of other countires; Egypt, Turkey, China..... Very Happy

You don't need pedagogy courses to qualify as a teacher here, or to get a work visa. A BA or BS degree in any major will do.

Then you'd better realize up front that you're going to have a very hard time. Neither of those things is taught in English. How's your Japanese language ability?

If you want to teach those here, you're going to have to qualify for teaching such (in mainstream schools) or have a teaching license and experience back home (for international schools here).

Still, your writing is less than perfectly fluent English, so be careful about professing a high proficiency. Be aware that a lot of people in Japan don't consider many countries to churn out native English speakers. It's a shame, but many people think only the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand produce native English speakers. So, it is up to you to convince the authorities and employers otherwise.
