Anthony Bourdrain did a series recently...the best foreign video journalism bit I've ever seen on DF, especially since it was actualy shot in DF!

Credit to Gary for the find first...

And the video if you can download it via a torrent...

The video takes you through the food, the people, the architecture, and the life of this place. Nice to look at for someone who has never been here before.

I just watched it. It was quite good, and even though I'm suffering from too many tacos last night, it made me want to go out and get some! Laughing

I'd actually just finished downloading it and watching it when I stumbled upon this thread... Lovely! I am quite sure I ate at a few of the street stands he visited. My mouth was watering just watching Very Happy A few years ago, he did a show on the US/Mexican border area, which was also quite good. It also featured Carlos, the head chef, and his family in Puebla.

I miss salsa verde. Sad

It's a fascinating video but to me it focused on food too much. Is food really such an important part of Mexican culture? Or is it that the host is also a chef?

Anthony Bourdain is a chef and food is the basis for his series- he seems to be searching for the ways in which food brings people together, hold cultures together, makes people happy, that sort of thing. I like it.
