A lot of schools in Italy ask for 'recent photos'?
Admittedly, I'm no adonis or apollo but why is that?
I mean why do italian schools do this..does beauty influence
the efficacy of learning?
Does anyone please know the legality of this? -
A lot of British connected schools do this as well..
yet in Britain this never happens..(is it against the law?)
Thanks

It's fairly standard in Europe to ask for a recent photo. yes, it's legal.
Schools are going to send you out to their clients - they want to know that you look professional and presentable. |

It also helps them remember who you are if you have a face to face interview. Standard practice these days. |

Of course not, or, at least, only marginally, but it may well influence the propensity of students and prospective students to sign up for or re-enrol in courses, and thus the profitability of language schools! |

It's standard to ask for a photo. I too was a bit shocked at first.
Good looking teachers often distract the lessons because Italians are visual by nature and have sex on their minds a lot of the time. Some of my colleauges have played up their looks and sex appeal just for their own ego boosts. And schools will be thrilled if you are Adonis or Aphrodite, but if you're not, they will still hire you the same, and your students will like you just the same too. |
