I just finished college in December. As of today, I have a passport, 3 reference letters and a copy of an ESL certification. What I don't have yet is the actual diploma from college. I won't have it until mid-February. I've been inquiring to some recruiters about jobs and I'm trying to get to Japan by April. The first question they always ask me is "Do you have a copy of your diploma?" Is it worth even applying anywhere until I have the physical copy of the diploma? What I do have right now is an official transcript that says I graduated in December 'O8.

Transcript of your courses is a good idea.
Getting an official letter from the registrar saying you graduated is even better.

Use both. Get several copies.
