I am a High School English teacher in California. I would like to spend July teaching English in Turkey. My masters degree is in Government, but I got my CELTA last Summer in Buenos Aires.
Is it realistic to look of a contract of only one month?
Are there camps for young people?
How can I find potential employers?
Thanks in advance for your advice. |

There are summer camps, but like everywhere in Europe August is busier than July and they might not be happy for you to leave in the busiest period. I did Koparan Summer Camp in Bandirma Erdek in 1996 and 1999, but I believe it is no more. However, some of the teachers there had done other similar camps so some must still exist.
I googled Summer Camp Jobs Turkey 2009 and got some likely looking leads

Hello, I believe there is a Turkish company called Genctur (pronounced Genchtur), the 'c' will have aloop under it, should you see it on the web. I can't say I have any direct dealings with this company or know anybody who has. Genc in Turkish means youth. Besides random applications to language schools, you might write to hotels. I think it would be an experience for you and very enjoyable. |
