Hi,

My question is on the topic of living in Taiwan on a tourist visa.

I make a living working from home and do not think it would be possible for me to acquire an ARC. I am contemplating getting a student visa, but for the nonce cannot put the time in. Perhaps in the summer.

Which leaves only one option; living here on my 2-month tourist visa. I know it is illegal. I am seeking advice on what I can do to try and avoid overstaying the 2 months. I heard there are ways of extending tourist visas another 2 months at certain offices around Taipei. I also heard many people living on T visas are forced to make visa runs to HK every 2-4 months. These are all rumors, and it would be great to get some concrete advice on what my options are (besides going home).

Many thanks.
