Getting blood tests before you arrive in TW is against US law, regardless of other countries. To have a U.S. doctor sign your physical before you arrive, including the blood tests, is also against the law.

Taiwan has no legal bearing to allow these tests to reflect upon the physical outcome of a citizen of the U.S., therefore allowing for the doctors to be sued within the U.S. If TW is legally bearing, the tests should be administered within their own borders. If not, something's amiss.

Some schools require this blood test before a teacher arrives. Fact is, their own country(TW,) should be responsible, meaning, a biasness exists that they won't reveal.

Notwithstanding, in some parts of TW, prostitution is legal, creating victimization/legal philandering. This leaves for much malfeasance. If a part of a school that requires such tests, you too, may be sued. Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad

What has giving a blood test for a TEFL job got to do with prostitution?

Okay, I'll make it more clear. Taiwan's passing the buck. which is a typical Asian tactic. I'll tell you via what law. It's called 'constitutional law.'

Number one, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO FAX/EMAIL A COPY OF YOUR PASSPORT/HEALTH DOCUMENTS, TO ANY PERSON/EMPLOYER WHATSOEVER!! In so doing, you jeapordize(?) your own privacy/identity, and possibly, homeland security. THIS IS AGAINST U.S. LAW!

Number two, and as for AIDS/blood tests. It's actually only permitted for people who work in various sectors 'within the U.S.' Outside the U.S., is up to the host country. It's called 'international law.' Otherwise, if you're hired from within the U.S.. it's discrimminatory, allowing for lawsuits.

Once doctors get a scent of this, someone else is going to fork the bill. To coerce them to sign the forms via physical examination, is also something they'll love.

So you're saying that you are actually breaking U.S. law by getting a physical, and then deciding to send the results somewhere? Or choosing to send your personal information somewhere? Wow, that sounds like a pretty oppressive country! I thought America was better than that.

Honey, will you please back this statement up with just exactly what law says I can not e-mail a copy of my passport to someone? I do not believe it is true and I challenge you to defend it with facts, not just ALL CAPS and multiple !!!!!s.

And my own health documents? Come on! Can we marshal together just enough brain cells in the same place, at the same time to see what an absolutely ludicrous statement this is? Faxing my last pap smear result might jeopardize Homeland Security. Pleeeese.

Hi Wally, Have you considered coming back here? It seemed you were involved in interesting and creative projects when you were here, as opposed to being idle. And we miss you.
