Dear Colleagues!
CELTA courses are held rarely in Iran and usually cost an arm and a
leg. Though aware that most schools don't consider online certificates
to be valid at all, I still wonder if there could be any exceptions.
Could you please recommend me a particularly valid, well-structured
online CELTA program?

Your responses will not go unappreciated,
Farshad

I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I am 99.999999% certain that a CELTA is only a CELTA if it contains at least six hours' observed teaching practice.

No distance CELTA, I'm afraid. Even the distance DELTA involves traveling to a center for invigilation, including PT.

There are some decent online qualifications, but most, if they are entry level, will need to have an onsite component, or they won't be worth much.

Chancellor??? (A guy who posts here who is doing a decent distance cert...)

Maybe you could tell us a little about your circumstances, background, and reason for wanting a "CELTA?"

best,
Justin

ONTESOL (www.ontesol.com) is a 250-hour course that you can do either online or onsite (Toronto). In addition to the course, there is 10 hours of teacher observation and 10 hours of teaching practice with real students. Also, if you have a four-year degree recognized by the government of Canada, the course (whether onsite or online and along with the teaching practice) is recognized by the government of Canada for TESOL certification. No, it isn't CELTA (which is just a brand name) but it is a TESOL course. If you did the course onsite it would be a Trinity course.
