Hi,
I had no luck on finding a direct link to the Taiwan Ministry of Education recruitment site on Google or on Dave's search engine. I am considering applying if am suitably qualified according to MOE's criteria for working as a recognised teacher. Does anyone know the direct link. Some feedback on experiences with MOE would be good.
I know there is a lot of bad press about teaching in Taiwan, but it can not be as bad as Sth Korea, or can it? |

Taiwan Ministry of Education recruitment site |
I don't recall seeing one. Most often, recruiters (which skim off a thick layer of cream) fill these positions. Each school is run separately. There are reasonable stories of good stints and horrendous stories of living and working conditions from some teachers.
I know there is a lot of good press about teaching in Taiwan. There is also a lot of good press about teaching in S Korea.
However, you have chosen to only focus on the bad in your post. What's up?
Search these forums and go back a few months or years. There is plenty of good info and bad info. It's a hit and miss. My worst gig was in Taiwan. My best gig was also in Taiwan. At my school in Korea, I did very well while others around me did runners, while still others at the same school stayed for 4 years.
It's about the individual really.
