Probably re-train him, re-arm him and install him as leader, I mean dictator of another country, I mean useful land mass.

Sad

There should be enough Kurds alive to testify at his trial. I wonder how much publicity that will get here in the PRC? After all, they are separatists, and Beijing wouldn't want to give any ideas to its own western region people.

CCTV-9 (China International TV) broke into regular programming last night and showed the news conference held by the US Military command and other officials in Iraq.

Why is the little boy in Slim's post saluting him? Does he see through Saddam's Santa disguise?

Since they go after such small fry, why don't the US go after their own big fish - Lindon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon?
Have these thugs been pardoned?

Not by me, in any case. Nor by the Vietnamese.

Speaking of fish (or rather, fish-like mammals), Keiko, the disobedient whale of "Free Willy" fame, died at approximately the same time as Saddam's capture. Poor little fellow.

I worked with another foreign teacher a couple of years ago who looks just the the new, improved Saadam. Well the beard wasn't quite as full, but that was two years ago. I wonder if...nah, that's impossible. Also reminds me a bit of the una bomber when they finally caught him (based on a family member's help...from my hometown)

From MSN:
Quote:
The operation was based on information from a member of a family “close to him,” Maj. Gen. Raymond Odierno, commander of 4th Infantry Division, said in Tikrit. “Finally we got the ultimate information from one of these individuals.”

U.S. military officials told NBC News that it was unlikely that the informer would be eligible for the $25 million bounty on Saddam's head because he was a U.S. captive likely to face charges himself.

If that person can't get the money, then what was his/her motivation for talking? (No carrot, what was the big stick? Just conscience?)

Informer? What informer?
The US had tqasked a special unit with combing the Tikrit area, and they laid their hands on some of Hussein's ex-bodyguards, one of whom knew of another person who might know where the most-wanted person on planet Earth might be.
Something like this - according to the news on ATV on Monday, 7:30 p.m.
