my partner and i are enrolled in a TEFL plus teacher training course in phuket 20th april this year. the course is a 125hrs (10 hours practical) and it's 4 week's long. we have upgraded to the premium package which includes accommodation while we study.
we are both from australia and hope to find teaching work in thailand straight away or somewhere else in asia or perhaps europe after the course finishes we will be on our own for accommodation and other expenses, does anyone have a rough idea on how much savings we should take with us?
thanks heaps

Coming from Australia, I found the easiest was to leave funds in accounts I could access on inet and by debit card. There are plenty of ATM's around Thailand &, in some places, at every 7/11 store.
That way, you don't need to "put aside" funds for the trip, rather you use what you need.
Caution: Do not use TMB (Thai Military Bank) - their Exchange Rates are always worse than Bangkok Bank or Siam Commercial Bank and, after all, it is your money.
Enjoy your trip. |
