While I don't usually frequent the Kuwait page or work in Kuwait, thought an article I came across might be useful as an intro for people heading to or thinking about heading to Kuwait.

Sadly true stuff... same in Saudi and the UAE from what I have seen and heard from friends. Oman is a bit better and I'm not sure about Qatar. I suspect it is much the same as Kuwait.

wah, wah, wah
i don't doubt the content of the link and i've been heard to write (cool phrase now that i see it in print) that kuwait sucks, but g&% d #$% j#$(* f*^$%(* C$%^& i've also seen so many 'ouuuhhh kuwaitis are so horrible' expats who then hole themselves up in their school provided housing growing pot and brewing wine in their bathrooms whilst bemoaning the seemingly uncivilized kuwaitis around them....

whilst i lived in the the uk, a drunk wino tired to mug me as I was pushing a pram through a park!, i had to continually step over vomit outside the pub which was next to the corner store closest to our flat and until we moved, my husband and I got free nightly sounds of lust as our flat was next to one occupied by a bunch of students, but you don't hear me say brits are bad....

kuwait is just like any other place - got it's good and bad
moral of the story - step over the vomit, get earplugs, carry a big stick and MOVE ON

I disagree. Kuwait is NOT just like any other place. As for your time in the UK, being mugged by a wino while pushing a pram sounds like a bad experience. BUT, having to step over a drunk's vomit or being kept awake by amorous neighbours! Get a life, woman! These are minor inconveniences, especially when compared with the treatment meted out to Third World nationals in Kuwait and the rest of the Gulf.
