Hi there,

I have a phone interview with Westgate coming up, and have been hearing mixed things about them on this board. The pay sounds pretty decent, and I'm LOOKING for a short-term 3 month contract.

The pay is 275000 yen per month. Could I get more if I went with another company? Are there places that would be willing to offer a May to July contract with better accommodations and pay? Any info you guys can provide would be very much appreciated!

You should really post this in the Japan forum. Since I'm from there, here's the scoop.

Westgate is one of the rare outfits that offers anything less than a 1-year contract with visa sponsorship.

Their salaries are fairly high end compared to the rest of the entry-level market. Don't expect more, especially for such short-term work. You may find it, but I wouldn't count on it.

Thanks. I just had my interview and they're apparently pretty stocked already and can only put me on the backup teacher list. :-\ Kind of disappointed. I'll head over to the Japan forum...
