in 2006 i was working on a tourist visa (actually 2 renewed one right after the other)
If i want to go back should i lie on my resume and say that i never worked in china before?
not really sure how to approach this... |

Put the experience on your resume.
Then get a new passport so no one will see the L visas. Then, get a job that requires a Z visa for entry!
Others may have more knowledge about just how thoroughly both the consulates and the local PSBs check your records. I don't know what fallout might occur if it is found that you worked illegally in the past. I am sure that there are others who can address the matter better.
Do you intend to enter with a Z visa next time, and do you anticipate working for a public school? |

I was working illegally on an L spring/summer 2008, then left my employer because the visa thing was not right. I used my illegal experience on my resume and I am now on a Z. So, I don't think that they really check if your experience was legal or not (I mean the gov., the new employer knew/knows I was illegal). Hope that helps. |

I was illegal my first year... I never had a problem going to a Z the next year.. I used a letter of recommendation from the school, and checked that i had worked in china on the visa form... Another option is saying that your previous work was an unpaid cultural exchange. |
