Firstly, most reputable places have a standardized scale - there is no demanding on your part.

Secondly, on the basis of your posting, you won't be considered for the more desirable (and highest paying) jobs at places like HCT or ZU - they require a masters degree, preferably in linguistics with at least 3 years post grad experience.

If you have a teaching qualification from your home country, some of the international schools might be interested. From what I've seen lately, they offer anything between 8000 - 11000 with varying benefit packages. Again, with your quals, you'd probably be at the lower end of the scale

Helen1 is correct about standards and scale for employment. Most of the top jobs won't touch you w/out an MA in TESL,TESOL or applied linguistics and 3 years teaching.

You might get work at international schools if you are certified teacher in your home country, or you could get work for local arabic schools with your experience.

the only thing you want to demand is to have housing provided. Do not take any position offering a housing allowance because of the massive shortage of housing.

From what I'm hearing (which may be biased by naysayers)

1) don't expect to earn much
2) it might not be enough.

You may wish to fact-check this --- but I understand the banks in the UAE are raising salary requirements to around 20,000 AED/month, to take out a car loan.

The bottom line is that without an MA you won't get a job in

a college or similar, in Abu Dhabi

I believe this might have been mentioned before on this forum.... BA plus CELTA ought not to qualify you to teach in schools but you might just find something. Best bet might be the British Council and its ilk - if they have vacancies for people without DipTEFLA.

Oh s2000000

I did forget, that if you are already living in the UAE you an get adjunct work with your qualifications. But as an adjunct you won't get housing allowances, travel reimbursement nor any benfits.

So you can get adjunct work if you are here with those qualifications, but don't expect any FULLTIME w/benefits at any tertiary/college/uni.

I can't vouge for working conditions, but CfBT and Nord Anglia (bot Abu Dhabi Education Council Projects) are hiring those w/o k-12 qualifications and/or a MA TESOL. As for salary...I'll let someone else jump in w/ the details of those two places.
