I'm in the process of getting our flights out of Japan and I noticed one thing. Many of the big English language travel agencies have these "unspecified airline" deals which on paper at least look like good deals, so what's the catch?(other than surcharges) I mean some of these return flights are half, even a third of regular one-way flights. Which brings me to a question, could you get one and not use the return leg?
I am going to call the agencies but I am interested in anyone's actual experiences, good or otherwise. |

In my experience, one-way tickets are always cheaper (not much) than the return fare, even on those "unspecified airline". Just ask them how much the one way fare is.
I bought a one way fare through STA on Qantas in December and it was still cheaper than any return fare (except maybe Air China... But who wants to fly that anyway?). |

I guess I could ask if there was a one-way option with those deals, I just figured there wasn't.
BTW How's being back treating you? |
