Across the board it seems, and apparently due to the new peso/dollar rate, though I suspect it's more due to increasing competition.
Check your latest phone bill if you deal with Telmex.
An installation of a new line used to cost about 1,300 pesos. It is now zero - a sure sign that competitors are making inroads.
Calling a cell phone from your home line is now cheaper...at 1.60 pesos per minute, down from 1.72.
It now only costs 2 pesos per minute to call long distance nationally at peak hours. I think it was 2.50 before.
Interent packaged with LD service results in other savings, though I can't quite figure out how they package it.
A little note stuffed into your Telmex bill reminds you that Telmex is 'working to support families and businesses, especially small and mid-sized businesses'. |

I'm in the process of changing my Telmex land-line contract to a new "paquete": local, national and international calls plus a really fast internet connection (!) for $389 a month. |

I'm still waiting for Telmex to lay the lines out to my housing development. I took posession of the house 5 years ago next month. |
