I signed a 4 month contract for a University in Beijing. I live outside China now. Not to be a pessimist, but if it doesn't work out, what are the chances of getting another gig in town or China in general? Would a bad experience mean no one else would hire me? I have NO indication this would happen, but am curious over the power any one school might have over my future in China. |

This is China and if that gig doesn't work out four months, or if you contract is not renewed, etc., etc., it will be far from serious...after all, May - July is the prime hiring season here. |

On the other hand, do you have a gig at home? If you have anything secure now might not be the time to head overseas, as re-engaging upon return might be difficult given the times... |
