Hi All. I am interested in learning more about KUSTAR. Does anyone know what the pay is like at this university, in comparison to other universities in the UAE? What about benefits, especially housing? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi
At present there are two contracts. Those in Abu Dhabi are recruited through IAT and I really do not know what the pay and benefits are apart from a studio flat or shared accommodation is provided and salary. In the Sharjah campus you are given pay that starts around 14000, housing depending on whether you are single or with family and an educational allowance plus the usual flight, medical insurance etc.. Pay is obviously offered depending on experience and qualifications. The English department in Sharjah is small (6 teachers) and I don't know if they will be recruiting next year.

Hi Tom. Thanks for your response. I am not an EFL teacher. I was actually interested in a job in Student Affairs that they just recently advertised. However, according to your estimates, the salary seems relatively low. Also, If they are only providing studios to single status employees...well that, in my opinion, is a red flag! Thanks for the update.

Hi
I was referring to ELT teachers. I would suggest you apply as I don't know anything about the Student affiars post or the pay/benefits. Wish I could be more helpful.
