I know a tad bit about Liuzhou. It's the second biggest city in Guangxi. Very well located for visits to Guilin or Hunan,Guizhou or possibly even Yunan. Guangxi isn't too bad IMHO. Sorry I can't help with that particular school.

Hello,
I don't know any single institution listed there, but I would say go for what you like as they seem to be public schools, not private businesses.
As for the locations: I haven't been to any of those east Chinese towns except transiting in trains or buses; nothing to write home about (although Jiujiang is fairly scenic and has some historic value).
Liuzhou is in lovely Guangxi, but as a city, it's not my cup of tea. It's famous for its locally-made coffins.

In my view, it also is the biggest of all of these towns, not something that speaks in its favour.
But then again, you might want to make trips to nearby Guilin, Yangshuo, Beihai - all feasible within 3 hours by train or bus. Nanning is a lot nicer than Liuzhou too.
And the climate tends to be more friendly - not that biting cold.
But hot it gets everywhere in summer, hot and humid!

Have you tried to read the Job Information Journal in this website? You can find this link about this Jiujiang Institute or University.

Read this: http://www.eslcafe.com/jobinfo/asia/sefer.cgi?display:1056360620-15527.txt

Read some more there.

Ok, I'll admit it, I am here (or there, or wherever).
Whilst my esteemed ex-colleague MT Richter may have a bit of an anger management problem, he also does have some valid points about this college. http://www.eslcafe.com/jobinfo/asia/sefer.cgi?display:1056360620-15527.txt

Good points Smile :
Jiujiang is a lovely city, I really like it here.
The students at the college are generally pretty lovely. If you get to teach the English majors, they're fantastic.
The accomodation and perks offered by the Institute are reasonable for Jiangxi (computer with broadband access in your flat etc.)

Bad points Sad :
The pay is lower than many other universitites in Jiangxi (and frequently late).
It is an institute, not a university so the intellectual level of the students is not particularly high.
In the past there have been some major FAO/foreign teacher communication problems (eg they tried to wrongly dismiss MT Richter on a trumped up charge, which is possibly why he's so down on the place).
Every foreign teacher who has so far departed from this place has not received everything promised in the contract. 100% of departing FTs are unhappy with their treatment. 70% are exceedingly annoyed.

If you want any more info, PM me. Wink
