I'm leaving for Costa Rica on Jun 26 to take my certification course in San Jose and I was just curious exactly how many people who check-in regularly at this board are teaching in CR right now. I'd like to get in touch with you all. I'd like to talk more one-on-one and in real time so if anyone would like to we could Instant Message perhaps. I'm on AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and Skype and am on all the time. |

I live and work in Costa Rica but not as a teacher. Not sure if I'm good enough for you in that case. ;)

I am currently in Costa Rica looking for a job. How do you like the San Pedro area? I hear a lot of mixed reviews about San Jose. |

Are you guys still in CR? My girlfriend and I have not been to Costa Rica yet, we plan on taking off March 1st, and travel the country for a month or so to find our favorite destination. Once we figure this out, we are going to look for work, find an apartment, etc. Or maybe do the TEFL training courses around San Jose and then back to looking for a job.
I would love to talk to some of you while you are currently out there.
Thanks!

Hello!
I'm applying for the CELTA course in February. For those of you already in cr, how hard will it be to find a job afterwards? |

I've been here for over 3 years now and just starting to teach English this year. I live in the hills of Coronado outside San Jose. I'd be up for a couple of brews in San Pedro with others from the forum sometime. It could be fun. |

Finding a job after the New Year shouldn't be hard. Students start returning from vacation around now, so lots of institutes are looking for teachers to fill in their schedules. I know that students who attend University of Costa Rica don't return until the beginning of March. |

I've been here four years now teaching on and off. I also did the CELTA. If you apply yourself you will get work. Yeah, looking for a job during certain months is best....overall, lots of work. |
