So I have a job. Now, I have to go to get my 60 day visitor visa. In order to do that I need to have a airline ticket out of Taiwan. My recruiter suggested I find a travel agent familiar with the situation who will book a ticket for me, print it up, so I can use it to get the visitor visa, and then when I go to pay for the ticket, cancel the second part of the ticket, which would be from Taiwan to Hong Kong. This of course involves finding a travel agent that can and will do this - and who will give me a decent rate. Right now the cheapest one way I can find from SFO to Kaohshiung is $610 on the internet. I am afraid a travel agent will be much more expensive.
Anyone done this? Suggestions? Know a good travel agent? Thanks. |

Travel agents are typically cheaper than the net. First thing you want to do is go down to the part of town that you would consider "Chinatown". Then look for a travel agent there. You better get used to communicating through a language barrier, so dont be intimidated. There is a chance that they may specialize in tickets to that area of the world and be able to get you a better rate. |
